WHAT TO EXPECT
What Should I Expect During A Sunday Gathering?
Going to church for the first time can be an awkward experience. Just so you know, we won’t make you wear a nametag or stand up and introduce yourself. We want you to have a great time at LWC, meeting people and checking out this whole church thing. So, to help you with your visit to LWC, here are some things to know:
Come As You Are
We say that, and we really mean it. You don't have to dress up. At LWC people wear all kinds of different things; from shorts to dress pants, t-shirts to button-downs. You don't have to act a certain way. You don't have to pretend that you're someone you're not. At LaOtto Wesleyan Church, anyone is welcome—no matter what.
LWC's service starts at 9:30 and ends around 10:45. After the gathering, we meet informally in discussion groups and sunday school classes to discuss the sermon and other topics. This usually lasts from 11:00 to 11:50. During this time, kids and teenagers have their own group time.
Great! We have a great nursery for nursing and new moms and a fully staffed toddler room for newborns through four year olds. During the service, kids can go to junior church where they learn, create, and grow. These environments are a fun and safe place for your kids to learn about God.
We're Not After Your Money
We want you to know that the fact that you are here is enough. We take an offering every week, but if you’re just checking this whole church thing out, don’t feel like you have to give. We care about you, not your money.
Missed Breakfast? We've Got You Covered!
We serve great coffee and tea on Sundays as well as fruit and doughnuts. We love sharing food and great conversation, so help yourself and thanks for coming!
Let Us Know How We Can Serve You
In your bulletin there is a communicator card that you can use to let us know you are visiting. If you need prayer, or have questions, this is a great way to let us know. Just leave the information you are comfortable with and we will be in touch! Twitter, Facebook, email, cell phone-whatever! The pastor would love to meet you after service, so stick around and say hi!
